Lil Tracy pochází z hudební rodiny – jeho otec, Ishmael Butler, je známý z avantgardního hip-hopového projektu Shabazz Palaces, zatímco jeho matka Cheryl Coko Clemons zazářila v devadesátých letech v R&B kapele SWV. Dětství strávil ve Virginia Beach, ale jeho kariéra se raketově rozjela po přesunu do Los Angeles, kde navázal úzkou spolupráci s Lil Peepem, která vyvrcholila ikonickou skladbou "Awful Things".

Lil Tracy comes from a musical family - his father, Ishmael Butler, is famous for the avant-garde hip-hop project Shabazz Palaces, while his mother, Cheryl Coko Clemons, shone in the nineties in the R&B band SWV. He spent his childhood in Virginia Beach, but his career took off after moving to Los Angeles, where he formed a close collaboration with Lil Peep, culminating in the iconic track "Awful Things".
